The resolution of digital cameras and camera phones is often measured in megapixels. For example, a 12-megapixel camera can produce images with 12 million total pixels and 48-megapixel means 4 crore 80 lakhs pixels and 64mp means 6 crore 40 lakhs pixels... As the number of megapixel increases in smartphone camera it means it has more resolutions capacity like QHD HD UHD 4k videos or images you can see... also the capacity of zooming is incresases, the logic behind it is very simple when the size of pixels decrease then you have to zoom more to see the pixels... in shorts more zooming capacity. Generally people belive that camera quality depend only upon Megapixel but the truth is totally different... Megapixel is only point and there are many points in which camera quality depends like Camera sensor,processor,algorithm and yes pixels also.... that's why I-phone (apple) mobile phones cameras are far better than others. As you know pixels means the smallest unit of any images as like cell is the smallest unit of tissue... the work of the pixels is to capture the image data and in simple more the number of pixels more the clarity you can see.... Sensor: Many people don't know about sensor but actually it has main role for better image quality because sensor is the place where light and image data stored that's why DSLR camera quality is thousand time better than smartphone or any other mobile camera because DSLR has bigger sensor comparison to them ... you can see the front side of DSLR the sensor is just behind the lens
